Learn the Truth About Organic Skin Care
Posted on August 1, 2009
The popularity of organic skin care is on the rise. Everyday there are more products being advertised as being organic. However do you know what truly makes a product organic? Not because the label reads “organic” does not mean what is contained in the package is. There is a lot more to good skin care than just being organic.
I have noticed another word use regularly along with organic and that is natural. Most companies advertise their products as being natural and organic. That is a powerful claim to make. When you are shopping for natural and or organic products you want to make sure the product was derived from natural source, manufactured in such a way that will not do more damage to the environment and be effective, safe and healthy.
When looking at natural products, you want to ask, “were the ingredients derived from nature?” Well, lets face it almost everything is. So you know that some amount of processing has to take place with some ingredients for them to be safe enough to be used on your skin.
If most products could be used in their natural state to heal our skin we would all have beautiful young skin. As a matter of fact we would not age.
Let me give you an example of an ingredient that has been derived naturally that makes organic skin care really work, CoEnzyme Q1O, this is an awesome antioxidant that can be found in natural substances. However it was put through a very safe process in the lab to make a nano-emulsion version that can be readily absorbed into the skin. Originally COQ10 in its natural form just sits on the skin it does not penetrate the skin, however this newly developed version penetrates the skin. Making it a powerful rejuvenator.
Therefore sometimes it is necessary for processing to take place however this should enhance the ability of the substance to be better able to heal your skin safely.
If you truly want to know if you can trust the company whose products you are using check to see if they have signed the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. Any company that is willing to sign this agreement to make safe cosmetics then you know that is a company you can trust to use their product on your sensitive skin. Most cosmetic companies do not wish to sign this pact.
If you are using products that claim to be organic skin care, do they work. If they do not then stop throwing away your hard earned money. A company that cares about its consumers would spend most of their money on research and development to find the most safe and natural ingredients to put in their products therefore making organic skin care effective.
In essence the thought of using organic skin care is wonderful, however finding products that truly are is something else. Don't just take it for granted because you see “organic” on the label. Do some research and learn more about the ingredients they are using in their products and decide if you would want to use them on your skin.
