Nutrition Mistakes That Are Commonly Made

Posted on November 13, 2009

The nutrition is the most important aspect of a bodybuilders life as it greatly dictates the physique youll get even after working out. That said, it is also an area where the greatest of mistakes are made. The fact that nutrition is very important to a bodybuilder just means that you cannot afford to look back months later then realize that your results are not so impressive simply because you havent grasped some things here and there concerning your nutrition. The next time you make the same mistake, at least you wont say that no one told you!

1. Going On A Weight Loss Diet

Im amazed at the large number of people who still go on fat burning diets and actually hope to retain the newly acquired weight. No sooner do they go off the diet than all the weight comes streaming back in. the reason for this is so simple probably thats why many miss it. When you get off the diet and go back to your old eating habits that were responsible for the excess fat to begin with, then you are just taking a break from the fat and then you later on dive right back into it. After this vicious cycle is over and another one begins you end up giving up on getting to a healthy weight. What you need to do is simply get on a diet that you can retain, afford and most importantly one that will provide your body with all the nutrients it requires.

2. Eating Before You Sleep

Unless you are truly desperate to grow fat, Ill suggest that you should get rid of this habit. Your body doesnt really do that much when youre asleep. Of cause with the conception of night runner or the people who thoroughly clean down the house in their sleep! This means that your energy requirement at that time is very low. Taking a meal right before bed is equivalent to depositing some gram of fat somewhere around your mid-section before every night. It is a rule that what your body wont use will go directly into storage. According to your body, its simply storing food for a rainy or rather starvation day. If you must have something before you sleep, then try a glass of water.

3. Skipping Meals

Skipping meals for whatever reason is generally speaking, very unhealthy. Your body always needs to have a constant supply of the nutritional and energy requirements it has. By breaking this supply due t you skipping meals, you body interprets it as the new state of affairs. To compensate for thee periods of no food, it will make sure that it stores as much food as possible the few times that you actually do eat. There is a very common misconception that skipping breakfast especially will lead to weight loss. The only thing it will achieve is kick start your day on a limited supply of energy. Your day will only seem longer as it barely has enough energy. The only alternative you are giving your body is for it to burn muscles!
