Kwanzaa is an African holiday celebrated during December. The holiday involves much food, dancing, and poetry during the celebration. Here’s an idea of the sort of food you might like to serve for Kwanzaa:
You may find on the menu for Kwanzaa sweet potato pie, Okra, vegetarian stew, Futari, and Benne cakes. Depending on where you live you might even find Kwanzaa is celebrated with Christmas adding to the menu items you may find on the table.

Health Benefits Of Champagne
Posted on December 27, 2008
Champagne a festive wine was actually the first wine which was made 2,000 years ago, was named after a small town in France. Wines from the champagne region were known from the middle-ages. During those periods wines were either red or white. The first commercial sparkling wine was produced in the Limoux area of Languedoc in the year 1535. Sparkling wines usually come from areas where grapes don’t have enough sun to ripe according to other wine standards.
We have all heard about the medical benefits of red and white wine. But recent findings have revealed that champagne has got medical benefits too. When raising a glass of Champagne and toasting ‘Cheers’, the attitude is generally a way of praising one’s health and well being in a figurative way.
Permanently Taking Control Of Bad Debt Is Like Eating Green Salads

Credit cards are a silent killer. They are shiny and classy. They make you feel rich, and they carefully and seductively lead you into financial captivity.
Only 5% of Americans are “financially free”, and as if you didn’t know, financial captivity is the absolute opposite of financial freedom.
Financial freedom is waking up in the morning and thinking Gee, I’d like to go fishing. Yet as you guiltlessly run away to enjoy your hobby, your assets are still making money. It is being able to work because you want to, not because you have to.
But we’re not here to talk about fishing or even how the rich get richer. We are here, believe it or not, to talk about diet. That’s right diet.
A Nutty Comparison

So I went a little nuts with “healthy” peanut butters. It started when I saw one called Better’n Peanut Butter. The nutrition facts were so amazing I grabbed it to check out for you.
Then I saw one called Naturally More, and the label says it is “What Peanut Butter Should Be.”
“We’ll see about that,” I thought, and it joined the first jar in my buggy (that’s what we call shopping carts in South Carolina – buggies).
Things snowballed from there. How could I tell you about the first two without also giving you the scoop on the new Smart Balance Natural Peanut Butter; I.M. Healthy Original Creamy SoyNut Butter; and Smucker’s Reduced Fat Natural Style Creamy Peanut Butter?

Is Chocolate Really Good For You?
Posted on December 18, 2008
Could it really be true? Can chocolate really be good for you? I was floored (and very happy) when I heard on the news recently that researchers have discovered that chocolate has some health benefits associated with it. Curiosity got the best of me and I went and did a little more research. Surprisingly, I found many articles on the web that agree with this discovery. Apparently chocolate contains what are called flavonols, which are high in antioxidants. What is even better is that these flavonols can help lower high blood pressure and high cholesterol and potentially prevent blood clots. It can also give a mild energy boost, decrease anxiety, relieve pain, and make a person feel happier.
Restaurant Review – Fogo De Chao, Or Holy Meat On A Stick
Posted on December 16, 2008
A normal night out with a few friends all of a sudden turned into a celebration. I don’t know what we were celebrating, other than the fact it was Thursday and this particular group of friends hadn’t seen much of each other over the summer. So rather than join the rest of Minnesota at the fairgrounds, since this was the end of August, we all met up at a ginormous restaurant on Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis for a different kind of “food on a stick” experience. This joint seats over 200 people and was very crowded so I guess we weren’t the only ones looking for alternatives to Sloppy Joe on a stick. Fogo de Chao, (Portuguese for campfire) serves all of their meals on a stick. Well they’re actually more like a cross between a long sword and barbecue skewer. This Brazilian chain opened in late April and has been winner with locals and tourists alike, but most likely tourists I suspect. Our local fascination with food on a stick really doesn’t go much beyond Labor Day.

Posted on December 15, 2008
You may have heard about the benefits of drinking green tea from multitude of websites and books dedicated to spreading the advantages of drinking green tea drinks, applying green tea lotion, using green tea soaps, and other green tea products. However, not much has been said about green tea extract.
What is a green tea extract? Green tea extract is simply the juice gathered from green tea leaves. Green tea extract contains healing properties from the tea leaves and green tea extraction simply means taking out these juice – as well as its healing properties – and subject these into a chemical form which is used in green tea pills, green tea dietary and health supplements, cosmetic and beauty or skin care products and many others.
All About Peppers
Posted on December 14, 2008
Where did peppers come from?
One of the most common geniuses of peppers, known as the capsicum, is thought to have been in existence millions of years ago in present-day Bolivia, according to the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Information and Resources. But, the first known cultivation of peppers happened in Mexico and Central, as well as South America 10,000 years ago. The probable spread of these crops from Bolivia to these areas is attributed to birds. The capsicums existed mainly in the Americas until about 1600. Christopher Columbus’ voyages were helpful in spreading capsicum peppers throughout the world.
The original peppers were tiny and round, unlike most of today’s peppers which are long and larger.

Have Some Pasta With Your Interview
Posted on December 13, 2008
When cyclists prepare for a big race, they always make sure they load up on the carbs. It is not uncommon to have a pasta feed the night before an important event so that the athletes can store up some of the carbohydrates they will be burning up the next day. The same goes for preparing for an interview. A candidate for a job, preparing for that all-important interview, needs to take in some PASTA. However, it isn’t the same kind of pasta, but it is something that will energize, fortify and maximize a person’s chances in having a successful interview.
